ABOUT SEMI DRIVE-RITE ADDITIONAL AIR SUSPENSON
As the name implies, the additional Drive-Rite air spring supports the factory installed steel suspension by the use of air. As the air spring works with the existing vehicle suspension, it is called a ‘Semi-Air’ system. The air pressure can be manually or automatically adjusted to individual needs in a very quick way with an optional Drive-Rite ‘air accessory’ kit. With these kits the customer has the option of an easy to use control system with compressor and gauges.
The air suspension greatly reduces the friction between the leaf springs resulting in improved comfort and stability under all load conditions.
Depending on the Drive-Rite control system chosen, the operator can allow for separate side-to-side or front-to-rear height adjustment, which helps keep the vehicle level when carrying off-centre loads and maintains ride quality under different load conditions.
Semi-air suspensions are an investment in your vehicle. As time progresses the original leaf springs lose their rigidity and start to sag. The original suspension hardens when loaded, comfort decreases and the stress on the vehicle, the driver and the load increases enormously.
By adding a Drive-Rite air suspension and varying the air pressure, the additional air spring becomes an active part of the suspension system. With a Drive-Rite semi-air kit installed the vehicle is easier to handle when driving under all loaded conditions. Comfort and safety are improved.
